Business Courier: Fast-growing medical staffing firm moving HQ to Norwood

A fast-growing Cincinnati firm that staffs medical centers nationwide with registered nurses and other health care professionals on a contract basis is moving its headquarters to Norwood.

Health Carousel LLC, which is currently headquartered in a former firehouse at 1700 Madison Road in East Walnut Hills, signed a seven-year lease for the entire top floor of Rookwood Tower, located at 3805 Edwards Road. The company needed the more than 9,000-square-foot space to accommodate its current and future growth.

Jessica Griffith, director of human resources for Health Carousel, said the company has outgrown every building it leased so far.

“Before we move in, we might have to look at additional space,” Griffith said.

Health Carousel has been growing rapidly. In 2013, the company reported revenue of more than $15.5 million. Last year, revenue jumped to more than $57 million, a more than 267 percent increase. Griffith said Health Carousel expects to double revenue again in 2016.

Health Carousel is expected to move into Rookwood Tower in May. It will continue to lease the 4,600-square-foot building in East Walnut Hills. The firm also will maintain offices in O'Bryonville and Centerville.

As a part of the move, Health Carousel will be adding 85 new jobs. On Monday, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved Health Carousel for a 1.66 percent, eight-year job creation tax credit. The estimated value of the tax credit is $697,000.
