10 Reasons to Love Health Carousel Employees

This Valentine’s Day, we're taking a moment to appreciate how lovable our employees are. We think you’ll love them too (it’s not hard)! Read on for 10 reasons to love Health Carousel employees.

When we asked our employees what their favorite part of coming to work is, we received the same answer over and over—my coworkers! And our #HCFamily mentality stretches beyond just friendly faces to your left and right each day. Through our Health ‘CARE’ousel program, the company, leaders, and managers celebrate employees' happy moments in life and provide support through the tough times.

2. We Support Our Local Sports Teams

One of our unique employee perks is paid tickets to local sporting events. You can catch our employees at FC Cincinnati soccer games, Columbus Blue Jackets hockey games, Dayton Dragons baseball games, and more! We’re outgoing and passionate about sports. If you see us there, don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation.

3. And There Isn’t a Sport We Won’t Try Ourselves

Watching sports is awesome, but does anything beat competing yourself? Our employees enjoy paid-for and self-funded intramural sports of all kinds and are sponsored in local races, often championed by our VP of International Operations, Katie Glaser. We participate in an indoor soccer team, led by our Chief Financial Officer, John Penote; we tackle softball, volleyball, and even bowling! Our competitive nature shines through, but so does our teamwork!

4. We Give Back to Our Communities

Giving back to the communities in which we live, work, and play is a passion many of our employees share. We partner with the Red Cross with efforts led by our Chief People Officer, Marijke Woodruff, gather gifts for children in need for the holidays, provide socks and shoes for underprivileged children through Shoes 4 Shoeless, and so much more. In addition to our employee-driven efforts, as an appreciation gift during the holidays this past December, each employee received $50 to donate to the organization of their choice through the Global Giving program.

The temporary and contract placements we provide help fill these widening gaps. It is estimated that in 2017, Health Carousel improved the care of over a million patients. We know that without our employees' dedication to our higher purpose of improving lives and making healthcare work better, this impact number would not be possible.

8. We Know How to Celebrate

Kicking off the new year? Reflecting on the successes of the previous year? Work anniversary? Summertime? We have found a unique way to celebrate it all, and our employees show up for the occasions! Dress down, dress up, wear costumes, it doesn't matter. Our employees work hard, and we believe hard work should be partnered with a balance of enjoying yourself.
