Health Carousel's Meteoric Rise Captured in Headlines, More Hiring Ahead

May 10, 2016

People want to be a part of something bigger.

After consecutive years of significant growth, East-Walnut Hills' best kept secret is out. We are Health Carousel, and we are still hiring. If you're thinking about your next career in Cincinnati, keep reading.

It's been nearly a year since we told you that Health Carousel is one of the best places to work that you've never heard of. We're still one of the best places to work, only now, you may have heard of us. Health Carousel has been in the news a lot. After consecutive years of growth, Health Carousel made its first acquisition last November. Next Medical Staffing is now a part of the Health Carousel family of brands, pushing the company's reach into the Dayton market and expanding its service offerings to include nurse practitioners and locum tenens staffing. And Next Medical Staffing has already made its own headlines. Next President Stacey Stanley (featured in the center of the picture to the left) was recently appointed president elect of the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations® (NALTO®). She'll be overseeing the industry's leading trade organization.

In responses to the company's aggressive growth, Health Carousel announced several major hires that made rounds among local media outlets. John Penote was named as the company's new Chief Financial Officer to accommodate an accounting team that has more than doubled in size. In line with Health Carousel's ambitious expansion plans, Jon Kukulski was hired as the company's general counsel and vice president of business development.

"We have a bold growth strategy in place and we're pleased to see it's working," says CEO Bill DeVille.

And as evident by the company's 2016 motto "double-up," Health Carousel plans to keep growing don't appear to be changing anytime soon. It's only April, but Health Carousel has already made tangible progress in its effort to double-up. In March, the company received notice that it has been named to the Fast-55 list of Cincinnati's fastest growing companies. Along with that distinction, the company is currently in the running for Cincinnati's Best Places to Work Award. But while awards are fun to boast, they don't tell the story of what's really happening inside the firehouse at 1700 Madison Ave, which is bursting at the seams with new people. And that won't change anytime soon. As first reported by local WCPO Channel 9, Health Carousel was one of five companies to receive a credit from the state Tax Credit Authority, a project that in total is expected to create some 350 new jobs in the Tri-State. And if you're wondering where all of these new hires will go, so were most of Health Carousel's internal employees. That's why the company was thrilled when DeVille announced that Health Carousel would be opening its fourth office location in the Rookwood Tower.

We've outgrown every building we've leased so far," said Director of Human Resources Jessica Griffith. "“Before we move in, we might have to look at additional space."

"But it's not just the lack of space Jessica's been having to deal with. To address the increase in people, the company announced another major hire just weeks ago. As first reported by The Cincinnati Enquirer, Health Carousel hired former Cincinnati Bell and P&G executive Marijke Woodruff as the new VP of HR and Chief People Officer.

"This position reflects the importance of our people," said DeVille. "Marijke will add more horsepower and senior leadership to the team to help us reach our aggressive goals." The company's human resources department is now stronger than ever, which will allow the company to stay abreast of expeditious hiring.

It's a really exciting time to be a part of Health Carousel and 2016 aims to be a landmark year for the company. So where do you fit in? As mentioned above, Health Carousel only plans on getting bigger. And if you're a professional in Cincinnati looking for your next career move, you should absolutely consider sending us your resume.
